We are proud to offer TeenDrivingPlan (TDP) in partnership with Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Wisconsin Department of Health. This program can help a parent to more effectively supervise driving practice, while building a teen's confidence as they begin driving.
Learn more about How to Use the TeenDrivingPlan Practice Guide (YouTube)
Open the practice guide and select the lesson you wish to work on. It's often best to go in order. Read the lesson and watch the activity video. Choose a safe location and complete the driving activity. After driving, complete the logging and rating tool, and talk about what went well and how to improve for next time. When the teen has practiced enough to complete the skill on their own, check it off on the goal guide. Also take a few minutes to review the "Making the Most" tip sheets.
Parents and teens often have different views on driving. Talking about these differences can help to make learning to drive a positive experience. See what these parents and teens have to say about driving, then start your own conversation about safe teen driving.
