Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, along with Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Wisconsin Department of Health is using the TeenDrivingPlan (TDP) as one of the interventions for adolescents in the Maternal Child Health (MCH) grant program.
We are actively seeking professionals who can serve as program facilitators who can deliver a one hour in-person session to parents. The sessions cover 1) the reasons new drivers crash 2) how GDL helps to prevent crashes, and 3) how parents are an essential piece of learning to drive safely. To become a facilitator or for more information on the MCH initiative, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
You can view the parent/caregiver materials in the WI TeenDriving Plan section of our site.
The Teen Driver Safety CoIIN initiative in Wisconsin is a national project with other states, territories, and tribal communities and with a panel of injury and violence prevention advisors to increase the adoption of evidence-based policies, programs, and practices at national, state, and local levels. These resources provide an overview of the initiative. We completed work on Cohort 1 in April 2017, and are continuing on to Cohort 2 which runs from May 2017 through May 2018.
